Membrane Sweep

I'm 37 and a half weeks now and I still have had no sign of any contractions or a broken water. I called my doctor today just to get some more information about what will happen towards the end of the week if nothing has happened. I was told that if by Monday (which I will be 38 weeks by then) I will go in and have a membrane sweep which should kick start labour within 24-48 hours. I had a membrane sweep with Noah around the same stage i'm at now and he arrived within the 48 hours. It was a little painful with Noah and so were my contractions and labour compared to Apirl's. I don't know if it was because of  the membrane sweep or if it was just a more painful labour. I friend of mine had a membrane sweep at 39 weeks and then was 'properly' induced at 41 weeks 3 days as the membrane sweep was not effective on her and I know that is the case for some women. I'm hoping because it worked before it will work again. I'm also hoping that my labour won't be as painful as with Noah. I decided not to have a membrane sweep with April because it was my first pregnancy and I was only young and I just didn't want to take any risks, I wanted things to happen naturally and eventually they did. So i'll blog hopefully over the weekend if anythign happens then for sure on Monday and after to see if the membrane sweep works some magic.
